About me
That morning as I read the US election news, I thought about how, if all us practitioners had thriving businesses helping people with their emotional and physical needs, there’d likely be far fewer Donald Trumps on the planet.
This is still one of the reasons I’m passionate about helping coaches, therapists, practitioners, solopreneurs and service-based businesses get their work seen, understood, and in the world making a difference.
What’s tricky about getting your work out there is that, when you know your work deeply, it’s hard to know if it’s clear to others. That’s where I use my skills as a content and user experience designer.
The Donald Trump effect
In 2017, shortly after finishing my Diploma in Transformational Coaching, Donald Trump became President of the United States.
The weekend before I’d been at a coaching conference, and one of the speakers told us to ‘have courage’ and get our services out into the world because our work was needed.
“I help you make sure your website speaks clearly about what you do, who you help, and how you help.”
How I got into website clarity work
I love the written word, and this, along with my joy for problem-solving, led neatly into work as a content and user experience designer – someone who makes websites easy to understand and navigate.
Training as a life coach fine-tuned my skills of observation and clarity, which fed nicely into my website work. After 20+ years in this field, I can quickly spot the fixes that bring clarity to a website, making reaching out an easy decision for your potential clients.
My coaching background
Growing up, home life and school often felt overwhelming and stressful.
As I got older I embraced the world of self-help partly because I wanted to feel better, and partly because I found it a fascinating subject. As an adult I now understand how our internal narratives shape how we experience our lives.
Right now I’m not coaching, but I’m developing my Refocusing Method, a framework for bridging the gap between what we know, and living it day-to-day.
My writing
Back to my love of words – a love that didn’t really surface until my late 20s, when I woke up one morning with a story inside me impatient to be expressed. I picked up a pen and started writing, and eight years later I’d finished my first novel.
I self-published The Pope Wears a Kippah in 2014. And right now, in between my other work, I’m writing a nonfiction book.
You can visit my Books page to find out more and see what I’m currently working on.
Hope is contagious
Those are all the ‘meaty’ things about me – my work with brilliant practitioners, my Refocusing Method and my passion for writing.
But the world in 2026 has my attention… it feels like it’s up to something – it looks chaotic, but underneath I sense hope and optimism.
One of the biggest reasons I love the work I do with practitioners is because:
“When someone feels good, when they feel empowered, that positive feeling ripples out far beyond them, to families, friends and neighbourhoods.”
If you’re a practitioner and you’re not sure if your website is clear about who you work with and how you work, you can find out more about my Website Clarity Reviews.
